It’s always been true love

As a 15-year-old, Lorenza Sebasti fell in love with Castello di Ama. Today, she runs the place. Her family bought the little village in the middle of Italy’s Chianti region and turned it into a hideaway with comfortable suites, a restaurant, contemporary art installations and, of course, wine production. In doing so, Lorenza and her family found a solution fort traveling clientele, constantly searching for unique and special experiences every seasons. Lorenza talked to COMPANION about what makes this little wine producing village sp special, and how they came to present contemporary art there.

Terre di Toscana is animated by 140 important producers, including niche winemakers and international brands. A unique and unrepeatable cross-section, from which it is rare to find such prestigious names in the same context, made pleasantly usable thanks to the large spaces of the elegant location that has been hosting it for twelve years. The most significant event at national level for the wines and producers of this region, in 2020 will reach its THIRTH edition.

In Florence, on February 17th and 18th, 2020, the latest Chianti Classico labels will be presented at the Stazione Leopolda. It will be presented also the Chianti Classico PDO Olive Oil, harvest 2019.

CB – The Cabinet 2019 project for Castello di Ama came about unexpectedly during the Il mondo infine exhibition, which was held this winter at the National Gallery in Rome….

When the show was still on, I received a phone call, a total surprise, from Lorenza Sebasti; she’d seen my work installed in one of the museum’s halls. As soon as we met at Castello di Ama, I was moved by the enthusiasm with which she suggested I develop a project for Ama…
