From the south (Siena)
Take the A1 motorway towards Florence and exit at Valdichiana. Start driving along the Siena dual carriageway at km. 46 (you’ll see the kilometre markers on the left). Drive for 38 km until you reach km 8 and 7. Exit at Casetta / Montaperti. Continue for about 8 km as far as the Siena/Montevarchi SS 408 (to Pianella) junction. Turn right towards Montevarchi/Gaiole in Chianti. After about 10 km, take the left turn (by the km 19 marker) for Lecchi in Chianti. 2 km after driving through Lecchi, turn left for Ama – Castello di Ama.
From the north (Florence)
Leave the A1 motorway at Firenze Impruneta and start driving along the dual carriageway towards Siena. Exit at San Donato in Poggio and turn left towards Castellina in Chianti.
On arriving in Castellina, turn left at the beginning of the town, towards Radda in Chianti. Continue for about 3 km and turn right, following the signposts for Radda in Chianti. About 1 km before Radda, in La Croce, turn right towards Lecchi and San Sano. After approximately 7 km, turn right for Ama-Castello di Ama. (not Casanuova di Ama)
